Vexel Piece

This week, we did a tutorial on making vexel art. I think that what resulted was, once again, one of my best pieces. I really enjoyed this project, which is why I think that I was able to really get into it and do good work. I enjoyed getting to learn more about using the pen tool, and I can tell that I'm getting more proficient with it.

Global Warming Gif

This week, I finished my Global Warming GIF. I like the way it turned out. I think I'm gonna clean it up, and then I'll probably put it on my tumblr. It took a lot of time, and I'm proud of my effort.

GIF WEEK

This week, we were instructed to make GIF animations in photoshop with messages about public issues. I chose the issue of global warming for the first one I'm doing. It's taking a lot longer than expected, and I haven't really gotten to think about any other ideas yet.. I don't think the GIF will work in blogger, so I'm going to just upload a still of it. Hopefully by the time I finish the project, Google will get it's act together and allow the upload of GIFs (if it doesn't already).

Spring Luncheon 2013

This week, we were instructed to design invitations for our school's parent association's spring luncheon. They advised us to use sunflowers to honor a wonderful teacher who passed away earlier this school year, so I centered my piece around a sunflower. I couldn't decide which of these pieces I liked better, so I decided to upload two.

Week of Feb 25

This week, I worked on the logo assignment that we were given. For one of them, I used a wood inlay tutorial. This yields very cool results, and is incredibly simple! I made four different versions of my logo because I had trouble deciding which was best.

While searching cool text tutorials, I came across some pretty cool retro tutorials, which I may integrate into another pice at some later date. Week of February 22nd

This week, we were assigned a new project, which is to create a logo, letterhead, etc. for a company. For this project, I'm following a couple of interesting text tutorials, which is exciting, because I've been wanting to do them for a long time. For the comapny, I'm using my own company, MMX Records. I'm taking this project as a great opportunity to make a new logo/letterhead for my business, which is really cool.

Week of Valentines Day

This week, I did a piece based on the word winklepicker, which besides sounding really fun, has a historical context. A winklepicker is a pointed shoe that was worn by female rock and roll artists in the 1950s. For the project, I made a poster advertising the winklepickers, and it was one of my best works. It came together in two days, and I really am proud of how quickly I made it.
